Got a Pool Problem? We Can Help.

If you're like most pool owners, your pool probably takes a bit of a hiatus during the winter months. But now that summer is here, it's time to get your pool back into shape! Here are a few things you'll need to do to get your pool ready for action:

Give Your Pool a Good Cleaning

This is probably the most important step in getting your pool back into action. All of the dirt, leaves, and debris that have accumulated over the winter need to be removed before you can even think about swimming. The best way to do this is to hire a professional pool cleaning company like Sea Breeze Pools. We have the experience and the equipment to get your pool sparkling clean in no time!

Shock the Pool

Shocking your pool is a process of adding chlorine or other sanitizing agents to the water in order to kill any bacteria or algae that might be lurking. This is an important step in keeping your pool clean and safe for swimming all summer long.

Test the Water

After you've cleaned and shocked your pool, it's time to test the water to make sure everything is balanced and safe. You can purchase a water testing kit at your local pool supply store, or you can contact us and we'll come over to your pool and test it for free!

The frequency of pool water chemistry testing can vary depending on the individual's needs. Some people test all components daily and this may be a bit obsessive, but here at Sea Breeze Pools, we suggest following these guidelines when conducting tests:

  • Chlorine levels: Weekly

  • pH balance: Weekly

  • Total alkalinity: Weekly, unless pH has changed, in which case you should always test the total alkalinity (TA)

  • Calcium hardness: Monthly

  • Cyanuric acid levels: Monthly

  • Total dissolved solids (TDS): Monthly

Inspect Your Pool System

Make sure all the pumps, filters, and other equipment are in good working order. This is especially important if your pool has been sitting unused for a while.

Once you've completed these steps, your pool will be ready for action! So go ahead and invite all your friends over for a pool party — we guarantee they'll be impressed with your sparkling clean pool!
